Important Notes: Installation site, when determining the installation site the floor must be concrete and structurally suitable to support 3,000 lbs. of weight. The floor should be relatively level and void of any large dips or humps. If the floor is not level some pre-installation preparation may need to be performed. (Grinding or filling along the proposed floor track location)  Any Pre-Mixed Floor Patch can be used to fill low spots and can be purchased at any local home supply store.

Step 1: FLOOR TRACK INSTALLATION

Items required

Tools required

  • T1:Large carpenters square
  • T2:Large hammer drill (Rental Company)
  • T3:Hammer Drill motor, Anchor set tool (1x)
  • T22: ½’’ inch diameter aluminum bar, 5.00 long (1x)
  • T21:Fast Spiral Round Shank Masonry Drill Bit, 5/32″ Size, 5/32″ Shank, 1-5/8″ Drill Depth, 3″ Overall Length (1x)
  • T4:#2 Philips power bit
  • T5:Compressed air
  • T6:Shop vacuum
  • T7:Mini sledge hammer
  • T8:Safety glasses

Before starting lay the floor  track on the floor in the desired area. Use a sharpie marker to scribe the inside and outside corners on the floor. Check the ceiling height for clearance prior to installation.

Apply a bead of fire sealant down the center of the sheet metal prior to laying pieces back on the floor. Wearing safety glasses, install item, SZ-FT-84.00, FLOOR TRACK (4x) per print. Place the first piece on the floor, paralleled in relation to an existing structure wall. Using 2941A14 ( and a large hammer drill, drill one pilot hole for 90161A612, blue concrete screw, Hole must be drilled a minimum of 2.00” deep. Using compressed air and a shop vacuum, blow and vacuum all concrete dust from the screw pilot hole. Using a hammer drill motor set on hammer and a #2 Philips power bit install the first end screw in the c-sink hole until flush. Verify that the position of the floor track is where you want it. Repeat drilling and screwing process on the end and middle counter sunk screw holes. Fully tighten all blue concrete screws, they must be flush with the top of the floor track.

Using a large carpenter square, place and locate the second floor track item at 90 degrees from the first installed floor track. * This is a critical process, make absolutely sure the item is aligned properly (the two half holes on the items should line up and make a perfect circle) and square to the first item* Repeat the drilling and screwing process on this item as described above. Using this same process finish the installation of all 4 floor tracks making a perfect square when complete.

Using the ½” masonry bit and a large hammer drill, drill anchor pilot holes 36x. ½ inch diameter anchor hole must be drill and a minimum depth of 1.750 / 1-3/4 inched in depth. Using compressed air and a shop vacuum, blow and vacuum all concrete dust from the anchor pilot hole. Using a mini-sledge and the ½ inch diameter x 5.00 long aluminum bar *do not hit the anchors directly with a hammer*, insert 47414200, concrete anchors flush or below with the floor track 20x. Using the anchor set tool and a mini-sledge, set the anchors by swedging them in 20x. Complete this operation by cleaning the entire work area and blowing/vacuuming out all residual dust from the concrete anchor threads.


Step 2: CORNER AND TOP POST INSTALLATION

Install 4 additional SZ-CP-80.0 (top) and 4 each SZ-CB-A, corner brackets using 92316a621screws (12x) per print.


Step 3: WALL AND CEILING PANEL INSTALLATION

SZ-4040, (12x) SZ-2040, (2x) SZ-2040-TVP-A (2x) using 97646A215 for the floor anchor holes (Caution -DO NOT INSTALL DOOR ANCHORS 2X IN BASE OF DOOR OPENING), 92316A621 and 92316A536 for the corner and top post and 92316A621 with 94831A031 and 90185A540 with 94831A029 on all panel center connections per print.

*2 man operation* Install ceiling panels, SZ-2040 (8X) USING, 92316A621 and 92316A536 for the top posts and 92316A621 with 94831A031 and 90185A540 with 94831A029 on all panel center connections per print.


Step 4: MOVE DOOR INTO THE VAULT PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE DOOR FRAME.

** USE EXTREME CAUTION, DOOR ASSEMBLY IS VERY HEAVY, USE FURNITURE DOLLY WITH LIFT FOR INSTALLATION IN ORDER TO AVOID INJURY, DOLLY CAN BE RENTED AT A RENTAL COMPANY**

*2 MAN MINIMUM OPERATION* Install handles and lock release lever, leave protective foam on handles until the door is installed to avoid damage. Roll the door strapped to the furniture dolly into the vault prior to installing the door frame.


Step 5: DOOR FRAME INSTALLATION AND DOOR.

*2 man operation*, Slide door frame in opening, install using 97646A215 for the floor anchor holes, 92316A621 for the corner and top post and 92316A621 with 94831A031 for the wall panel connections.


Step 6: INSTALL DOOR ASSEMBLY

Items required:

  • Item J: SZ-VD-A (1x), SZ VAULT DOOR ASSEMBLY
  • Item W: 92979A249, Grade 5 Steel Flanged Hex Head Cap Screw, 5/16″-18 Thread, 3/4″ Long, Fully Threaded (8X)

Tools required:

  • T17: Furniture dolly with lift (1x)
  • T18: .250” DOOR SPACERS
  • T19: Ratchet with ½” socket

With lock bolts retracted, strap vault door to a furniture dolly (with lift) and move it into the vault. Using .250 door spacers on the bottom and sides, position door in the frame opening. The door should have an even .250 gap on all four sides. Install and tighten 92979A249 8x per print. Open door and remove shims. Test door operation by engaging and retracting bolts several times prior to closing and testing bolt frame engagement. The door lock bolts should engage freely. ***do not force the lock pins into the frame** If they do not easily engage, some door alignment may be required. If so assess where the engagement interference is. Put the .250 spacers back on the frame, loosen the hinge bolts and shim accordingly until the bolts engage and disengage freely. Re- tighten the bolts hinge bolts and start the process over to ensure smooth operation of the locking bolts.


Step 7: TIGHTEN ALL HARDWARE USED TO THIS POINT

Tools required:

  •  T9:   Cordless drill motor
  •  T10: 3/8 socket drive power drill adaptor (and/or a 3/8 drive ratchet and extension)
  •  T12: 9/16 deep well socket and wrench
  •  T13: 3/8 deep well socket
  •  T14: 7/16 wrench.

Assuring all connections are plumb and square, using the drill motor set on highest torque setting with power drill adaptor, appropriate socket and wrenches, tighten all panel and post connections.

Using a ratchet and a 9/16 socket, tighten all floor anchor bolts completely.


Step 8: INSTALL INSULATION AND INSIDE PANELS:

  • T4:   #2 Phillips power bit.

*Wearing safety glasses, long sleeves, respirator mask and gloves* install insulation and inside panels using 90086A829 screws.


Step 9: CORNER POST INSULATION AND COVER INSTALLATION
